Trip to China & Japan 2024

This time, I am traveling with a friend some parts of the trip. So, today, I will go with him to Shin-Osaka to help him to buy tickets for the Shinkansen. We decide to go walking from the hotel (Yodoyabashi Station) to our destination.

Crossing the Yodo river is, for me, the most interesting part of the walk. From most places in Osaka, it is just possible to see a sea of buildings. But here the river opens the view to the crossing bridges, pockets of wild nature, running and cycling paths and the ever present warning system close to the river.

The rest of the day, we spend it wandering around and browsing thru shops. Second-hand stores dedicated to old comics and videogames feel like specialty museums. There are many vintage toys that I cannot recognize, but they seem to be part of the childhood of many Japanese. I plan to study that part of Japan's history in the future to understand better what I see the next time I come.
