Tokyo 24th,
Japan 2017-2018
In the morning, I visit Hama-rikyū Garden before going to Ueno.
After a long walk, I get to the Shinobazu no Ike Pond. It is a beautiful place, but in summer it offers even better views.
I stop by a close by food festival to get some food.
Finally, I arrive at the Tokyo National Museum. This is the main visit of today. It goes without saying that this is a must visit when in Tokyo. It's a great place to learn about history, to see art and for photography.
Now that I am in Ueno, I decide to pass by the National Museum of Nature and Science. It has several floors each one dedicated to different topics. It is even better that I expected.
Next, I visit the Ueno Zoo. I had the opportunity to see the panda. I just get a quick glance of it before it disappears and does not comes back, but I take a picture just as it passes.
After a short walk from Ueno, I find myself at Akihabara. I go shopping for some books at Madarake, a second-hand shop of games, manga and anime.
It has been a long day. I find some interesting things in my way back to the office. I see a few go-karts with people dressed as Super Mario characters pass by the road. (Nintendo sued the company and they are no more so heavy Mario-themed). When I pass by a Tokyo 2020 Olympics board I take a picture, I think in visit Japan during the Olympics. (I did not visit Japan in 2020 nor in 2021 or 2022, nor I traveled much, for obvious reasons). Today I took over a thousand pictures, it has been a good day to see ancient artifacts, natural wonders and art.
